What do you labor for?

It’s kind of amazing and disheartening – the vast distinction between what we claim we care about and how we actually spend our time.Did I say “we”? Sorry, let me just say “I”.

Recently I found myself thinking while reading twitter: ‘Wow, I wish I could do that, say that, or have that kind of following.’But no! I don’t need to be these tweeple. (No, they’re not real people. Just avatar and words) They may be popular with thousands of followers but they do not have my vision. Neither my passions nor touching lives the I way I want to touch lives.

Survival is a distraction. Envy is a distraction. Procrastination is thief and a liar…And so what can I do but pray…

Lord help me to stop wanting to be someone but touch the lives of the people you have already given me influence with. Help me to live in conjunction with the ideals and values I claim that I have. And lastly, help me to value who I am, and stop changing to fit the market or the masses. In Jesus name. Amen.
