A BRIEF STORY
I decided a long time ago that I wanted to be great. Not in relation to others, but according to my own abilities.
Success was my destination and I determined to do whatever it took.
I was captivated by phrases like “dying empty” and seduced by books like The Magic of Thinking Big. I was young, hungry and craved for change like a newborn with soiled diapers.
When I discovered that I could forgo generational mediocrity and assume a growth mindset, I greedily consumed more and more knowledge.
Yet with every lesson gained, there remained far many more hurdles to overcome…
Contentment was always in the distance and satisfaction remained beyond reach.
I didn’t realize that we do not have to wait to feel successful. And with every grasp for an external reward we forfeit the success that lie within.
But I was young, and I was numb.
I confused artificial perseverance with natural maturity and became disillusioned to reality.
During a grace filled moment of realization I wrote these words…
For the feet that treat past failures as stepping stones tend to develop callouses… And with decreased sensitivity they loose their ability to feel truth respond with honesty. – [Watch the Video]
TO BE CONTINUED…
I cannot say I have hit the greatness I’ve pursued, but I am still in pursuit. My gaze at the prize is steady and my level of gratitude is strong.
Today, I’ve added to my dream, helping others reach theirs.
