Stop selling yourself, just be yourself

Do you live by the idea: ‘fake it til you make it’? Or are you always trying to “sell yourself”?

Why would you need to “SELL” yourself? Why can’t your just “BE” yourself? 

It seems to me, too many people puff themselves up because aren’t comfortable with who they are or they just haven’t become who they wish they were…

The problem with is – it will create disappointment from the person who thought you were something else. You’ve created false expectations which are bound to fail…

As I continue grow my business, I’m learning delegate more stuff to other people. This is critical to become a business owners and not just a consultant or guru or expert… And thus I need to trust people with responsbilities that use to all be handled by myself. 

The problem is that rarely do people tell me their part-geniuses and part-slackers. They instead sell themselves based on their top qualities, best wishes and most competent skills. But when life wasn’t convient and I really need them to come thru – their real self couldn’t keep their mask from falling off.

Luckily, as I continue to try new people, new vendors, new freelancers, new partners, I’m finding the 5-10% folk who are, have and live by a different set of standards… Perhaps it was taught by their parents, books, or learned via the trial and errors of life. Either way, I so appreciate those whose integrity outshines their talents. And so as they share in my struggles they’ll also take part in my success.
