Some settle and some struggle.
Some come to a barrier and halt. Some come to a barrier and hurdle.
Silence from God makes some depressed but others will be desperate.
This is Arvell Craig with the Monday Morning Devo for April 6, 2015
1 Kings 17:5,7,8 tells of Elijah and says, “So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan.
And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9 “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”, (I Kings 17:5, 7-8 NKJV)
Now, For the past few months we’ve talked about discernment. And before that we talked about prayer. But what do you do when after you’ve gone thru the motions, you’re not connecting, not engaging or feeling much from God?
Let me tell you. One thing I’ve learned in my little life, is that God speaks in the silence. And depending on your heart or theology or philosophy– you will be stirred to seek him more and or you’ll settle, go through the motions or just give up.
Today I’d like to encourage you to be one of those who endure and persevere. Like these words in the book of Hebrews 10:35-36, 39: “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Let’s Pray
My prayer for you and I this week, is that we would not be complacent. And in the silence of God or the dissatisfaction of life, we would grow in hunger and in fighting to obtain, that for which Christ died to give us… For We must keep searching, and praying, and persevering for all that God has for us in this life. In Jesus Name.
