Today we’re going to talk about the 95:5 rule and point out that Black Fridays Matter.
Why? Because we’re at a special time in history.
And we’re heading into a special time of the year.
My new idea, This Might Not Work is a model for launching a program in a minimum viable format.
It’s about getting things done, not getting things perfect.
It’s about birthing. Going from head, to the heart, into someone else’s hand.
So when 2020 ends, you can look back feeling proud and say “I FINISHED IT!” “IT IS DONE!”
Friend, together we can do something that matters.
Because our ideas are not mistakes, but gifts. We are refusing to put them on hold any longer.
Many of us spend countless hours at our day jobs doing what’s necessary. And that’s cool. But in the back of our minds is something longing for time and attention.
In this program, I’m inviting you to give attention to that longing. And be committed to launching.
Step up to the plate and swing. Even if you strike out.
Because that’s ok too.
In fact… let me be the guinea pig.
This month will be a preview of me demonstrating what committing to launch looks like.
I will share my truth. Look, I’m not trying to sell you. If I were, most of you wouldn’t buy…
Let me fail first, but show you how we can turn failures into success.
So as you see my fumbles and struggles yet still moving forward, some of you will catch on.
Some of you will start to believe you can do it too.
Those ideas that you have neglected for years, I want to help you bring present.
If you lack the marketing/tech skills, I’ve got your covered. 😉
If you’re juggling many projects and lack the focus to finish, I’ve got you covered too!
The core deliverables of the program are to give you: strategy, tech support and accountability.
I want to eliminate your excuses.
I know you don’t lack knowledge.
Google can tell you everything and anything.
But as your marketing / accountability coach or virtual CMO, I’ll help you chose the few things to focus on.
Friend, your job is to commit to your idea. My job will be to commit to you.
Now, if you have 5 more minutes, let’s talk about the Friday that matters…
95:5 and the Black Friday that Matters
Friend, in the next few months you’ll have some of the greatest opportunities to launch and succeed.
Specifically you’ve got Black Friday, Christmas and New Years.
These three holidays convey disproportionate opportunity.
It’s like the Pareto Principle (aka the 80:20 rule) but on steroids.
You know about this rule right?
It’s the law that explains how nothing in life happens in equal measures.
That 80% of results flow from 20% of causes. For example, 80% of sales can come from just 20% of customers; 80% of road accidents occur in just 20% of accident locations;
When you understand this, you strategically focus on the 20% that brings the 80% of results.
But what would happen if you ran an 80/20 on just the 20%?
You would find approximately 5 of the 20 have the most impact.
So when looking at the entire whole you’re left with 5 most impactful and 95 remaining not even close.
It’s the 95:5 rule. (Google 95:5 Rule for more examples)
What if you you looked at a year this way?
Black Friday could be 1% that beats the 99.
All the other 364 days could be ignored if you got the one right.
This maybe speculation but it based on proven principle.
All days are not equal.
If you want to build and sell or share something… the time to prepare is now.
The time to launch is in the next 60-90 days.
And now is when you can join my program that’s all about getting your project done.
