Is Avoidance Weakness or Wisdom? #dyingempty
So I’ve got this friend named… let’s call him Dave.
Earlier this year we worked together on a hectic web development project. Nearing the completion, he told me he’ll need to take a break before working a client project again. Citing that the project was disruptive to his peace.
He exact words were something like, “I need to live in a state of peace in order to hear God and be creative.”
It’s an interesting yet completely contrary view to how I normally think.
Since reading my first self-help book some 14 years ago, I have pursed the idea of being better, stronger and wiser. I have worked to strengthen my ability to manage and master all that comes my way.
Today, I’m considering taking up the approach of my friend Dave. Why?
Because In 2013, I want to DO STUFF, and not just talk, think or read about stuff.
Perhaps some people are made to be managers and others creators.
Perhaps some thrive on constant imput and need highly developed organizational processes.
Some want to know all about what others are saying, doing and wanting…
Me? Call it weakness, but I’d rather have as much peace as possible.
Call it weakness, but I’ve spent enough time prioritizing other people’s urgencies.
Call it weakness, but I don’t want to die full of my ideas.
How about experiementing with the idea of avoiding that which drives away our peace?
How do you die empty? Nurture that which breeds and waters fresh revelation and creativity — and then ruthlessly condemn all that attempts to stifles it.
