4 Ways to Manage Monkey Mind

monkey mind

How often is your mind at peace?

Do you ever sit still?

Must you always thumb through your phone to catch up on the latest news?

We live in a world that is increasingly more distracted and more busy. We have unlimited opportunities to remain in a busy state. But the problem is, if left without controls, our mental and emotional strength weakens.

But no worries … This change is happening across the board, so you don’t have to worry. Your decaying intellect is on par with the rest of society!

Seriously though, there is a lesson here.

I am reminded of a success quote that says: “If you want to know how to be successful, find out what everyone else is doing, then do the opposite!

I think there is truth to that.

Blaine Oelkers’ Interview – Discusses the Jumpstart Experience, Masterminds, Selfluence, etc.

For years I’ve thought of recording some of the amazing phone conversations I occasionally have with friends, coaches and mentors.

Last week I made this a reality.

Meet my friend Blaine Oelkers.

Blaine Oelkers is a very successful entrepreneur and unique individual.
He is the leader of a mastermind group that I’m apart of and he’s launching a new program to help others’ experience a well run mastermind.

I asked him if I could pick his brain as a way to better understand how he thinks and works – as well as promote his new program.

Graciously, he said yes.

Here’s some of the points and places you can skip to.

(3:03) – Discusses Selfluence – The art and science of influencing yourself.
(5:45) – The #1 way to maximize your productivity.
(7:22) – The switch needs to happen inside to start taking control of your growth.
(10:11) – Discusses WYTAYBA – “What you think about you bring about”.
(12:10) – How to build hope, confidence and a vision for the future.
(14:55) – Using afFORrmations to help your brain push you in the right direction.

Hacking Pareto (80/20) with a Quaterly Clarity Assessment

hacking_pareto Many of us have heard of the ultimate productivity principle, the Pareto Rule.

▶︎ But how do you actually apply it?

Re: the Pareto Principle?

Originally applied to economics, the Pareto Principle stated 80% of the wealth of a nation was owned by 20% of it’s people.

For the lateral thinker, this principle finds use in all type of matters. For example, one could say, 80% of your money comes from 20% of your clients. Or maybe 20% of your weekly effort yields 80% of your most important results.

According to famed Internet Marketer, Perry Marshall, author of 80/20 Sales and Marketing, one understanding of Pareto, is seeing it as universal inequality.

Things will never be equal.

3 Simple Reasons to Pay More Attention to Others

So I find myself in the midst of revolution.
Maybe it’s just a natural part of maturing or leadership?

It’s a type of awakening, which I can’t recall if ever heard anyone talk of.
The change is developing a conscious effort to better know the need of others.

After many years in what felt like an endless cycle self-help, personality tests, gifts and talents discovery– I am flipping the script digging into knowing other people inside and out.

This has become a glaring blindspot.

It never occurred to me that if I had a detailed understanding about the people I am aiming to serve that all of my efforts to market, motivate or just conversate would go exponentially better.

In this weeks devo – I share a bit about this. And see, just like we need a vision for who we want to be and what we want to do. Having a vision about the people we serve is equally important.

Hope you enjoy.

MMDevo Vision

This week I decided to write a vision on the Monday Morning Devo.

I realized I’d never really taken the time to give context to who I’m speaking to and why I do this.

Today I decided to share a bit:

If you’re like me, you are busy.
Busy with family, responsibilities and pursuing your dreams.

However you also have a yearning for God. An unrelenting desire to honor Him and know Him.

However in the busyness amd chaos of life, its easy to neglect Him who we say is our highest priority.

Perhaps you feel guilty or say to your self, week after week or year after year, life a new years resolution to loose 20 lbs that never seems to stick.

“Oh I need to pray, or go back to church.”

You are the person this podcast was created for.

I speak to you the same way I speak to myself, which is also what I believe God would like to say to us. He knows the beginning from the ends and our weakness and frailties cannot diminish his unrelenting undying eternal love from chasing us.

We love him because he loved us first. We desire him because he first ravished our heart and hid his face This is journey of the Christian life. A choice to love an unseen God in the midst of seeing temporary fads and pleasures on every side.

To choose God. Day in and day out his spirit works in us to will and do his pleasure. But we agree with his spirit, by worshipping and praying, and receiving love… to the point where his love overflows and spills onto our coworkers and neightbors, and everyone who knows us.

Yes, they will see… like Moses who was veiled to hide the glory, we let our light so shine for our dark world barely even recognizes what light looks like.

In this weekly podcast, we aim to nurture intimacy with Jesus as the means and the goal to a life well lived.

Amen.

4 Prayers God Loves to Answer

In this podcast, we talk about 4 types of prayers that God LOVES to answer.

Repentance – See: Is. 58, Daniel 9, 2 Chr. 7:14. Here’s Chronicles:

“And My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Revelation – Eph. 1:17

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Innocence – See: Matthew 5:8, Psalm 24

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Resistance – See: Matthew 16:23

“Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

I also referenced the message my pastor preached. See the 1/24/16 message here.
